At the Zuccato Gallery we present the exhibition Hidden Landscapes, bringing together the works of multimedia artist Davor Mezak and photographer Darija Jelinčić. Both artists explore spaces of intimacy, memory, and contemporary social tensions, creating visual landscapes in which personal and collective experiences intertwine.
Through the cycles Solastalgia and Top Secret, Davor Mezak reflects on the impact of climate change, the fragility of social structures, and the human need for concealment and revelation. His video installations, photographs, paintings, and ambient settings create a tense balance between the real and the surreal, evoking in the viewer feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and existential unease.
In her series Escapes, Darija Jelinčić investigates moments of escape and freedom. With photographic notes of intimate and external spaces, she creates fragile landscapes of introspection, where personal experiences are transformed into universal images of longing and liberation.
The title Hidden Landscapes points to layers of meaning that are not immediately visible: inner landscapes of emotions and memories, but also the social tensions of our time. Only through the artistic gaze and the viewer’s participation do these landscapes unfold and acquire a new dimension.
