The 54th edition of the amateur choir gathering “Naš kanat je lip” will take place in Poreč on 12 and 13 June 2026. This traditional cultural event, established in 1973, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Istrian scale, the Chakavian dialect, and the region’s choral heritage.
This year's gathering, held in the Istrian Assembly Hall, will bring together around 400 singers from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Germany. The main goal of the event is to showcase traditional music and the authentic two-part singing in narrow intervals, which is protected by UNESCO as part of the world’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Programme (both days):
6:30 p.m. – Joint singing by all choirs on the steps of the Poreč Open University
7:00 p.m. – Performances by choirs and vocal groups in the Istrian Assembly Hall
