Top gastronomic and entertainment experience in the week dedicated to the queen of the Adriatic Sea
At the beginning of September, Poreč will become the epicentre of fun for all lovers of excellent seafood, adrenaline and entertainment thanks to a unique event that combines big-game fishing, tasting of seafood delicacies and great fun with excellent outdoor concerts. The star of this event is tuna, also known as the “Queen of the Adriatic”.
As part of the Tuna Restaurant Week, which takes place from 9 to 15 September, many Poreč restaurants will create special menus centred around the Adriatic tuna, offered at promotional prices. The pinnacle of gastronomic delight is planned for the evening hours of 12 September at the Spinnaker Gourmet Stage. A renowned guest chef at Valamar's top Spinnaker restaurant will prepare a tuna-inspired signature menu, combining it with a selection of top wines to provide an unforgettable experience to all lovers of haute seafood gastronomy.
All those who like to mix good food with great fun can head to the Poreč waterfront, where the Tunalicious Street Food Festival will offer creative and delicious tuna dishes and other seafood delicacies from 12 to 14 September. In addition to good food, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a rich selection of local wines, brandies, cocktails and other drinks. The gastronomic programme will be accompanied by a varied entertainment programme, including concerts by some of the favourite music stars of this region, who will play live on the Poreč waterfront for three days in a row.
This year will also see the return of the popular international big-game fishing competition – TunIstra, which will be held from 11 to 14 September. In addition to the large number of boats on the waterfront, as part of the competition, guests will also be able to watch the public weighing and awarding of points for the caught tuna every evening, and many specimens of tuna in the Istrian waters reach a weight of over 100 and some even over 200 kilograms.
