The Messier Marathon is a challenging contest for astronomers of all levels and backgrounds. The goal is to observe and find as many of the 110 Messier's objects on the sky in a single night. Messier objects are bright deep sky objects catalogued by the French astronomer and comet hunter Charles Messier in the 18th century.
