Padel Poreč Week will host padel enthusiasts at the beginning of October
Padel Club Poreč is organizing the 1st Memorial "Luka Otočan," a charity tournament in memory of a recently deceased lover of the sport, followed by the international tournament FIP Promotion Padel Poreč.
Charity Tournament Memorial Luka Otočan
Padel Club Poreč will host the 1st Memorial "Luka Otočan" on October 6th, the first padel tournament in honor of a great lover of the sport. The proceeds from the charity tournament will go to Luka's parents, who will donate them to a charity of their choice.
In addition to its charitable aspect and tribute to Luka, the tournament will also have a competitive character. The winner will receive a trophy that must be returned the following year. Permanent ownership of the trophy will be granted to players who manage to win the title three years in a row.
Padel Elite in Poreč
Padel Poreč Week continues with the international FIP Promotion Padel Poreč tournament, organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP). The competition level is comparable to the ATP in tennis. It is the largest tournament ever organized in Istria and will bring world-class players to the city. This is also the first time a FIP tournament will be held in Croatia.
FIP is the global governing body of padel, which also oversees the Premier Padel Tour, meaning that points earned at this tournament count towards the same ranking list where all the best players in the world are ranked.
The tournament starts on October 7th with the first round, and the semifinals and finals are scheduled for Sunday, October 10th, in both the men's and women's competitions. The total prize fund is 5000 euros. Among the confirmed players are Pier Giulio Farabbi, Youp De Kroon, Julian Prins, Victor Ortega Garcia, and from Croatia, Arthur Vašarević and Dorian Vasung. In the women’s competition, local stars Karolina Kovač and Lea Jurković will compete, with British players Abigail Tordoff and Lisa Rachel Phillips leading the international field.
