In the immediate vicinity of Poreč, in the village of Tićan, lies the Višnjan Observatory – one of Croatia’s most renowned destinations for lovers of astronomy and science. Famous for its numerous asteroid discoveries, the observatory has for years ranked among the top five most productive observatories in the world based on the number of Near Earth Object (NEO) measurements conducted.
During the summer months, visitors can take part in the Astro Night program, which includes lectures, a guided tour of the observatory and telescopes, stargazing through telescopes, and a laser-guided tour of the night sky.
A special event – the “Perseid Night” – will take place on August 12, featuring the observation of the meteor shower, a lecture by renowned astronomer Korado Korlević, and a magical evening under the stars.
